The company M. Rocha & J. Serra Lda, manufacturer of hardware for low and medium voltage lines and telecommunications, will invest two million in the expansion, in more than two thousand square meters, of its facilities, in the industrial zone of Fão, in the municipality of Esposende.

In a statement, the municipality of Esposende said it has signed an investment contract with the company, under the Regulation for Granting Incentives to Investment in force and that will provide the extension of the industrial unit dedicated to the transport and transformation of energy, telecommunications and road and rail communication routes.

Through the exemption of the Municipal Tax on Onerous Real Estate Transactions (IMT) and licensing fees for urban operations, the municipality gives a benefit to this company with more than 20 years to be around 28 thousand euros.

"In this investment process, the company will apply more than two million euros, introducing core technology from Industry 4.0, adopting a disruptive production process that will allow launching new products to the market and increasing its export capacity. This investment also aims to maintain the jobs, despite the instability we live in. M. Rocha & J. Serra Lda will also give priority to the work of digitization of processes and energy transition", says in the statement of the municipality.

The Regulation of Granting Investment Incentives, launched by the Municipality of Esposende three years ago, aims to raise investment for the municipality of Esposende, having already benefited 43 companies, corresponding to a total amount of incentives allocated that exceeds 380 thousand euros.

M. Rocha & J. Serra Lda began by specializing in the manufacture of frames for low, medium and high voltage power lines. In 2007 he qualified, with EDP, as a manufacturer of tubular arms in steel for public lighting. In 2012, during the increase in production capacity, through the acquisition of new equipment and the improvement of the capacity and technical competence of its human resources, the company decided to enter the area of metal structures and began its internationalization process.

Quoted in the statement, the mayor of Esposende, Benjamin Pereira, considers that "this investment represents the consolidation of an industrial project of great significance to the municipality and reveals the assertiveness demonstrated by the investor's guide that streamlines procedures and facilitates life for entrepreneurs".
